We\'re Hiring - Provincial Team Head Coaches, Provincial Team Assistant Coaches and EDC Coaches!

Applications for coaching positions with the 2018 Provincial Teams, as well as 2018 Elite Development Camp are now being accepted.

2018 Elite Development Camp (EDC) - Coach Position (Indoor)

• Closing date: May 24th, 2018, 11:59pm
• To apply: Please complete a Letter of Intent including coaching philosophy, as well as the application form and submit to Technical Director, Megan Conroy

EDC coach positions are for coaches looking to learn from and network with other coaches, as well as become more familiar with VNS High Performance Pathway. EDC coaches will receive an honorarium, as well as compensation for travel. VNS will cover all meals and accommodations during the EDC which takes place at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS from July 4th (6:00pm) to July 8th, 2018.
 
The EDC Coach will be responsible for the following:

• Read and adhere to the 2018 Team NS Handbook
• Assist with athlete check-in 
• Support Head & Assistant Coaches in facilitating on-court sessions
• Attend all off-court presentations or activities planned (including classroom sessions, S &C, yoga, or other team activities).
• Supervise athletes during off court hours (including overnight).
• Plan and deliver the EDC Social event
• Observe practice planning sessions
• Provide support to athletes in training
• Assist/lead teams during competition sessions

2018 Provincial Team - Coach Position (Indoor)

• 17U and 15U, Male and Female, Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions available
• Closing date: May 24th, 2018, 11:59pm

Head Coaches will be responsible for the following in relation to his/her assigned age group provincial team:

• Read and adhere to the 2018 Team NS Handbook
• Plan each training session in accordance with VNS guidelines, complete practice plans and provide to all other coaches
• Lead Team Training sessions during  EDC which includes: court supervision, drill modifications, athlete feedback
• Provide leadership to Assistant and EDC coaches
• Provide support to athletes in training
• Complete Athlete Evaluations and Team NS Selections (with TD & Mentor Coach)
• Conduct Exit Interviews with athletes (providing feedback)
• With the assistance from the Lead Coach, plan all team training sessions in the Halifax-Metro area from July 19th - July 25th, leading up to the Eastern Elite Championships in Halifax, NS on July 26th - 28th, 2018.
• During competition prepare all game plans, coach his/her team and lead team debriefs
• Assist in athlete assessments during the competition and ensure the development of the athletes meet the seasonal plan’s desired outcomes
• Head Coaches will also receive an honorarium, accommodations (if needed) as well as compensation for travel.

Assistant Coaches will be responsible for supporting and collaborating with the head coach on the above items. They will also receive an honorarium, accommodations (if needed) as well as compensation for travel.

Note: Once Coaches have been selected, the Provincial Team Coach positions may be used for a coach’s final evaluation to complete his/her NCCP certification. Futher arrangements with TD Megan Conroy required.
