Volleyball Nova Scotia is proud to announce that registration for the Winter REP Program 2018 tryouts is now active!
🏐What is REP?:
REP is a Volleyball Canada Excellence training program where athletes will receive individual volleyball skills training from USports, CCAA and Performance Coaches, consistent with the technical and tactical instruction that Team Canada athletes receive. This is NOT a team, nor will team systems be trained. The National Development pathway, including the National Excellence Program (NEP - formerly FTC), along with Provincial Team and National Team programs are designed to provide individual skill development training to athletes using the same coaching cues and language used at all REP's nationwide. This program believes in an extremely low athlete-coach ratio, therefore registration is very limited.
REP athletes also have an Integrated Services Team (IST) through the Canadian Sport Centre - Atlantic coaching staff who will provide Strength & Conditioning, as well as Mental Performance training and Nutrition education.
🏐Winter Tryout Details:
*Note - 2017 Team NS athletes do NOT need to tryout for this program.
REP - Halifax: Tuesday, December 19th, 6:30am-8:00am, Canada Games Centre, Halifax
REP - Wolfville: Tuesday, December 19th, 6:30am-8:00am, Acadia University, Wolfville
🏐Spaces Available: Limited spaces available in both programs.
🏐Tryout Cost: $20.00 per athlete
🏐Eligibility: Male and Female athletes born in 2000 and 2001 will be given priority registration, however athletes born in 2002, 2003 and younger will be considered on an individual basis. Athletes selected to this program are based on individual athleticism, volleyball skills, and potential to enter into an elite volleyball identification pathway.
