Volleyball Nova Scotia is proud to present the final rosters for both our Women's and Men's Indoor Volleyball Teams for the 2017 Canada Summer Games being held this July 28th - August 13th in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Dubbed "The Hottest Summer in Half a Century" - the 2017 Canada Summer Games celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Canada Games this year and the event is shaping up to be another memorable display of the top athletes in Canada at it's premiere National multi-sport competiton.
Our top Male and Female volleyball athletes from our province have been vying for a spot on the final rosters for over a year and have been participating in Strength & Conditioning, Sport Psychology Sessions, On-Court Training Camps and several Competitions throughout the country as it all culminated at the final selection camp this weekend past in Bedford, NS.
The Head Coaches of both programs are very proud of the hard work and dedication shown throughout the tryout process and would like to thank all coaches, athletes, parents and their support systems for their time and energy.
Head Coach of the Women's Program, Jon Elliott of Cole Harbour, NS, says "Our program had an intensely competitive selection weekend, with close to 30 talented athletes from across the province. We have selected a very athletic, skilled, focused and "team first" women who will enjoy the experience of competing for a Canada Games medal. I believe this close-knit and hard working group, along with our dedicated coaching and support staff, can push for the podium while representing Team Nova Scotia and VNS with integrity and pride."
